The 5.0 cm tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei has brown enamel that is well preserved and becomes darker towards the tip. The fine longitudinal grooves are clearly visible. The tooth shows signs of repair at the root, which is clearly visible in the pictures. Mosasaurs were a globally widespread group of predatory marine lizards during the Late Cretaceous period. These reptiles, which grew up to 17 meters long, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
