5.2 cm dark brown tooth of the Mosasaurus

The 5.2 cm long tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei has a dark brown and well-preserved enamel. Parts of the tooth root are still present. The tooth has been repaired at the tip, which is clearly recognisable in the pictures. The mosasaurs were a globally widespread group of predatory marine lizards in the Upper Cretaceous. The reptiles, which grew up to 17 metres long, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
