The 5.0 cm long tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei is in a beautiful state of preservation and shows no repairs, which is otherwise often the case with finds from Morocco. The enamel is shiny and well preserved. The mosasaurs were a globally widespread group of predatory marine lizards in the Upper Cretaceous. The reptiles, which grew up to 17 metres long, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
