10.1 cm beautifully preserved black tooth from a Megalodon

The 10.1 cm tooth from Carcharocles Megalodon is in very good condition. The tooth is a so-called ‘jet black’ tooth, meaning it is completely black. These teeth are very rare finds and their coloration is caused by embedded pyrite. The shiny enamel, the bourelette, and the razor-sharp fine serrations are perfectly preserved. The tooth was found off the coast of Savannah, Georgia. A very beautiful specimen in museum quality.
