15.9 cm very large massive tooth of the Megalodon

The 15.9 cm tooth of the Carcharocles Megalodon is impressive in size and massiveness. At 548 g, the tooth is one of the heaviest teeth I have had the honour of holding in my hands in 20 years. The tooth is in very good condition with a dark brown root that shows only slight damage. In the centre of the root, 3 nutrient gaps through which the tooth was supplied are clearly visible. The shiny black bourelette is beautifully preserved. The enamel is grey, brown and reddish in colour, which indicates iron deposits during fossilisation. The serration is almost perfectly preserved except for the tip, fine and very sharp. It is a so-called anterior tooth, i.e. it comes from the front area of the upper jaw of the prehistoric giant. An impressive specimen of the megalodon, whose pictures speak for themselves.
