3.6 cm narrow gray tooth of the Mako shark from Antwerp

The 3.6 cm tooth of the Mako shark (Cosmopolitodus hastalis) was found in Hoevenen, Antwerp. The tooth comes from the shark's lower jaw and has a very narrow, pointed crown. The enamel and root are beautifully preserved.

Species:      Cosmopolitodus hastalis (Order: Lamniformes, Family: Cosmopolitodus)
Age:             approx. 7.2 - 20 million years old (Pliocene - early Miocene)
