The 10.6 cm tooth of Carcharocles megalodon has a beautiful shiny light brown enamel with reddish facets. The fine serration is still well preserved and sharp, as is the red-brown bourelette. The root of the tooth, which is also reddish-brown, has been naturally smoothed over the many millions of years in the sea. Remains of rock are still attached to the tooth root and smaller areas of the tooth crown.
