15.0 cm long and massive tooth of the Megalodon

The 15.0 cm large and massive tooth of the Carcharocles Megalodon was found off the coast of Wilmington in North Carolina and is one of the larger possible finds and has a serration that is still easily recognisable and palpable. The enamel has a multi-faceted red and brown pattern with blue colouring. Part of the enamel is damaged and the inner matrix is visible. The broad dark brown bourelette is still partially preserved. The massive grey tooth root has been slightly eroded and smoothed over the many millions of years in the sea. White barnacles are still attached to the root, which gives it its own charm.
