6.8 cm large and massive tooth from Mosasaurus

The 6.8 cm tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei is in good condition and shows no obvious signs of repair, which is often the case with finds from Morocco. The enamel is light brown and becomes darker towards the tip. The typical lateral grooves are clearly visible. There are still rock fragments adhering to the root of the tooth. Mosasaurs were a globally distributed group of predatory marine reptiles during the Late Cretaceous period. These reptiles, which grew up to 17 meters in length, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
