The 6.1 cm long tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei is in a beautiful state of preservation and pointed. It has a very light brown enamel and there are no recognisable repairs, which is often the case with finds from Morocco. The mosasaurs were a globally widespread group of predatory marine lizards in the Upper Cretaceous. The reptiles, which grew up to 17 metres long, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
