The 9.6 cm long tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei has beautifully preserved brown enamel. The tooth was restored, i.e. the tooth crown was placed on the root matrix. The mosasaurs were a globally widespread group of predatory marine lizards in the Upper Cretaceous. The reptiles, up to 17 metres long, were among the most dangerous carnivores of the Cretaceous oceans.
