The 6.0 cm long tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei has dark brown enamel and a beautifully preserved tip. The tooth has been repaired, which is clearly recognisable in the pictures. The mosasaurs were a globally widespread group of predatory marine lizards in the Upper Cretaceous. The reptiles, which grew up to 17 metres long, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
