5.1cm beautifully serrated polished tooth of Carcharocles angustidens

The large tooth of the Carcharocles Angustidens has a very nice and sharp serration . Well to recognize are the typical on both sides pointed toothed cusps. The black root and bourlette contrasts nicely with the gray tooth crown. The tooth was polished because it was originally intended to be made into a piece of jewelry. The polishing now provides a nice play of color on the front and back and a nice shine. The Carcharocles Angustidens is believed to have been the evolutionary grandfather of the Megalodon. The species lived about 28 - 45 million years ago and the teeth found so far were on average about 5 cm long.
