4.7 cm dark Mako shark tooth

The 4.7 cm tooth from Cosmopolitodus hastalis (mako shark) comes from the Peace River in Florida. The tooth has dark blue, patterned enamel. The narrow black dental band is clearly visible and the matt gray tooth root is well preserved. The nutrient groove is clearly visible in the middle of the root. This groove supplied the tooth with nutrients during the shark's lifetime.
