4.5 cm large tooth of Carcharocles Chubutensis from Bone Valley

The tooth of Carcharocles Chubutensis has the white coloration of the root and bourlette typical of the Bone Valley. This contrasts strongly with the dark blue coloration of the tooth crown, which has a very well preserved sharp serration.

The region known as the Bone Valley Formation is located in Polk County in central Florida in the United States. Numerous phosphate mines have been located here for many years, which are therefore not accessible to the public. The fossil findings in this region, especially the shark teeth , captivate by their special and colorful coloring. The fossilization and absorption of minerals also resulted in the mostly white coloration of the tooth roots and the bourlette.
