The 4.5 cm long and slightly curved tooth of the Mosasaurus is beautifully coloured in various shades of brown. The tooth shows no recognisable repairs. The mosasaurs were a globally widespread group of predatory marine lizards in the Upper Cretaceous. The reptiles, which grew up to 17 metres long, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
