The 2.5 cm small tooth of Carcharocles auriculatus has a shiny grey enamel and fine, sharp serrations. The teeth of the Carcharocles auriculatus have large, serrated cusps on the sides, although only one is still beautifully preserved in this specimen. The Carcharocles auriculatus is considered the ancestor of the megalodon and grew up to 9 metres long.
