2.5 cm brown tooth of the Mosasaurus
The 2.5 cm long tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei has a beautifully preserved brown enamel that darkens towards the tip.
The mosasaurs were a globally widespread group of predatory marine lizards in the Upper Cretaceous. The reptiles, which grew up to 17 metres long, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
