Beautiful 5,0 cm tooth of Carcharocles Chubutensis

The fossil tooth of Caracharocles Chubutensis has overall a very nice coloration. The well preserved root and bourlette are in different shades of brown and the tooth crown is light brown and changes to bluish at the sharp serration. A circular pattern is visible on the front. The Carcharocles Chubutensis is considered the direct ancestor of the Megalodon and lived 15 - 23 million years ago.

Typical are the additional two small rounded cusps left and right of the tooth crown to the tooth of the Megalodon.
