5.2 cm light gray tooth of the Mako shark from Antwerp

The 5.2 cm tooth of the Mako shark (Cosmopolitodus hastalis) was found in Hoevenen, Antwerp. The tooth has shiny, light gray enamel that is beautifully preserved. The darker gray root of the tooth is slightly eroded.

Age:             approx. 7.2 - 20 million years old (Pliocene - early Miocene)
