The 1.4 cm tooth of the now extinct Squalicorax kaupi (crow shark) is beautifully preserved and has fine serrations. The Squalicorax kaupi was a large predatory shark of the late Cretaceous period and belonged to the Anacoracidae family. With a length of up to 5 meters, it was one of the top predators of its time. Its teeth were thorn-shaped and finely serrated, similar to those of today's tiger sharks. Squalicorax kaupi was an opportunistic hunter and scavenger that ate fish, sea turtles, and dinosaur carcasses.
