12,0 cm rare large tooth of the Megalodon from New Caledonia

The 12.0 cm tooth of Carcharocles Megalodon comes from New Caledonia and has a light-colored enamel with reddish patterns, which is typical for finds from this region. The dark gray tooth root and part of the enamel have been worn away and eroded by millions of years in the sea. The serration was largely modeled after the original. The finds from New Caledonia come from the deep sea of the Pacific north of the archipelago. At a depth of 400 - 600 meters, teeth of the Megalodon were repeatedly recovered there by so-called dredging (dredging/mechanical removal of the seabed) until the 2008 ban. Megalodon teeth from New Caledonia are now real rarities.
