The 5.0 cm tooth of Cosmopolitodus hastalis (mako shark) comes from the Bone Valley region in Florida. The tooth has blue patterned enamel in beautiful condition with sharp edges. The lighter gray tooth root is slightly eroded and worn, but well preserved with nutrient joints still visible. These small holes in the root supplied the tooth with nutrients during the shark's lifetime.
