4.5 cm Mosasaur tooth

4.5 cm brown tooth of the Mosasaurus 

The 4.5 cm long tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei has brown enamel that darkens towards the tip. The tooth is in a good state of preservation and has only been repaired at the tip. Mosasaurs were a globally widespread group of predatory marine lizards in the Upper Cretaceous. The reptiles, which grew up to 17 metres long, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
