4.2 cm tooth of Mosasaurus with light-coloured enamel

The 4.2 cm long tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei has a light brown enamel that darkens towards the tip. The tooth has no recognisable repairs, which is otherwise often the case with finds from Morocco. The mosasaurs were a globally widespread group of predatory marine lizards in the Upper Cretaceous. The reptiles, which grew up to 17 metres long, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
