The 5.7 cm large tooth of Carcharocles Chubutensis has a beautifully preserved black bourelette. The grey-blue enamel is shiny and patterned. The serration is still partially recognisable, as are the typical lateral cusps. Carcharocles chubutensis is considered the direct ancestor of the megalodon and was somewhat smaller, measuring up to 12 metres in length.
