The 4.6 cm tooth of Carcharocles megalodon is a so-called posterior tooth, i.e. it comes from the posterior region of the dentition. The tooth has the typical broad and massive root in relation to the grey crown. The black bourelette is still well preserved, as is the coarser serration.
