The 14.2 cm tooth of the Carcharocles megalodon from the USA is one of the larger specimens of the prehistoric giant. Most of the light brown enamel is still preserved and the dentition is still partially recognisable, while the darker brown root has been damaged over the many millions of years in the sea, as have the bourelette and parts of the enamel.
