13.8 cm massive tooth of the Megalodon

The 13.8 cm very large massive tooth of the Carcharocles Megalodon has a continuous palpable coarse serration and shows a beautiful play of colours of the enamel. The black bourelette is still well preserved.

Species:   Carcharocles Megalodon (Family: Otodontidae, Genius: Otodus)
Age:    ca. 3 – 20 million years old (Pliocene – early Miocene)
Location: Southeast of the USA (North Carolina, South Carolina or Georgia)
