The 10.1 cm tooth of the Carcharocles Megalodon was found off the coast of North Carolina. The tooth has a well-preserved enamel that shimmers bluish depending on the light. The serration is still clearly recognisable and sharp in places. The dark black bourelette is matt and still largely intact. The lighter grey tooth root has been worn away and eroded by millions of years in the sea.
