The 6.0 cm long, solid tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei has dark brown enamel and shows no obvious signs of repair. Mosasaurs were a group of predatory marine reptiles that were widespread throughout the world during the Late Cretaceous period. These reptiles, which grew up to 17 meters long, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
