The 4.8 cm long tooth of Mosasaurus beaugei has a well-preserved dark and shiny brown enamel. The tooth is in a beautiful state of preservation and has no repairs, which is often the case with teeth from Marooko. The mosasaurs were a globally widespread group of predatory marine lizards in the Upper Cretaceous. The reptiles, which were up to 17 metres long, were among the most dangerous carnivores in the Cretaceous oceans.
