4.8 cm light grey tooth of Carcharocles Auriculatus

The 4.8 cm tooth of Carcharocles Auriculatus has a beautifully preserved shiny grey enamel and the preserved serration is razor sharp. The dark root and bourelette are also beautifully preserved. The teeth of the Carcharocles Auriculatus have large and serrated cusps on the sides, although only one is still preserved in this specimen. The Carcharocles auriculatus is considered the ancestor of the megalodon and grew up to 9 metres long.
