4.0 cm beautiful black tooth of great white shark from South Africa

The 4.0 cm large pointed tooth of the Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias ) has a beautiful dark black color.

On the coast of South Africa, teeth of Carcharodon carcharias are mainly found. Probably they come from a phosphate occurrence, which runs in the sea along the coast. This is probably the reason for the predominantly dark coloration of the enamel.
